Your Estonian company needs a limited VAT number if:

  • It buys goods or services from EU suppliers, e.g. fulfillment services from Amazon, advertising from Facebook, Google, and other digital services

Your Estonian company is eligible for the Estonian standard VAT number if:

  • The place of supply of goods/services is considered Estonia;
  • Sells traditional services to other VAT-liable companies in the EU;
  • The transit of its goods via Estonia, or are sold to other EU businesses
  • At least some part of your service- or goods production is handled in Estonia
  • At least one of the above conditions is met and the sales in a calendar year reach €40,000

Your Estonian company may not be eligible for the Estonian standard VAT number if:

  • It sells goods or services to consumers (B2C) in other countries and goods do not transit via Estonia;
  • It sells goods to businesses in other countries and goods do not transit via Estonia.

  • We check trading details with you, file an online application and hold the interview with the Tax Authorities on your behalf. You will authorize us online with the Estonian Tax and Customs Board
  • Depending on your trading profile and the place of supply, your company can be either Standard VAT liable or Limited VAT liable. The format of VAT number is similar with both types of liability but the rights, charging- and withholding of VAT are different.  We will help you to determine the right status for your company VAT based on the trading details you provide us.

  • By purchasing the VAT Number Application Service, you must sign-up for one of our VAT-supported accounting service plans. Your VAT number application will not be processed until your accounting service plan subscription is verified.
  • The VAT Number Application Service fee is non-refundable if you do not sign up for the accounting service or you cancel the accounting service.
  • We will pre-check your eligibility for the VAT number and upon verifying it, will prepare and submit the application to the Tax Authority. By applying, we do our best to obtain the VAT number, however, this is always subject to the discretion of the Tax Authority and we can not guarantee the receipt of the VAT number. Our VAT Number Application Service fee is non-refundable if the Tax Authority does not approve your application.
  • If during the application process, you will receive a copy of the e-mail from the Tax Authority, asking you to provide additional information about the business profile, then you should forward the letter to us and the reply to the Tax Authority with additional information should only be provided by us.
